Walkway At Johnston Hill

Karori Mural Installation - ‘Walkway at Johnston Hill’

The mural, titled ‘Walkway at Johnston Hill’ is by local artist @carolinehollow

The design was inspired by the artist’s love for walking the hills of our city. The work represents the view of a path that turns a tree-lined corner into a warm light. It’s a mural we can escape into, imagine the journey and wonder about the destination.

Caroline is currently studying for a Master's in fine art at Massey University’s Toi Rauwhārangi, College of Creative Arts. This is her first Pōneke mural.

Commissioned by Wellington City Council, the work was first painted on a wooden panel using acrylics. The painting was then photographed, formatted into a vector file, increased in size, printed on adhesive vinyl and installed in vertical drops along the wall like wallpaper.”
